Personality Kevin Aviance to Be Honored at The Advocate’s People of the Year Luncheon

 
 

LOS ANGELES (November 26, 2022)The Advocate, the world’s leading source of LGBTQ+ news and information, will also induct vogue-ball and nightclub personality Kevin Aviance into its Hall of Fame at the luncheon ceremony on Tuesday, December 6, from 12-2p.m. at Ace Hotel DTLA (929 S Broadway, Los Angeles).

“We are thrilled to celebrate this year’s People of the Year in Los Angeles,” said Mark Berryhill, Chief Executive Office at equalpride, publisher of The Advocate. “From politics to pop culture, these esteemed honorees have made a tremendous impact across the country and beyond, striving to amplify the voices of the LGBTQ+ community.”

This year’s list includes a variety of individuals from movies, music, literature, politics, and social activism. Among the honorees include Karine Jean-Pierre (White House Press Secretary), Harvey Guillen (What We Do in the Shadows star), Phyllis Frye (jurist), Raquel Willis (writer-journalist), Beyoncé (musician and cultural icon), and Kevin Aviance (musician-performer), among others.

Kevin Aviance will be the publication’s inaugural Champions for Change Hall of Fame inductee. Recently sampled in Beyoncé’s Renaissance, Aviance is recognized for his distinguished career as a musician, drag queen, fashion designer and vogue-ball performer.
